We're passionate about advice & would love to help everyone. However, based on our highly personalised & comprehensive approach, our clients are generally pre-retirees, high income professionals, established business owners, and people with lump sums or large savings.
What's included in a Statement of Advice?
A Statement of Advice (SoA) includes an outline of the strategies, investments, and financial products recommended to help you achieve your intentions, and improve your financial wellbeing. It also contains detail on fees, conflicts, and any benefits your Adviser will receive. It is a legal requirement that you receive an SoA from a licensed financial adviser.
What makes Verse different to other firms?
While the industry has been treating people like walking wallets, we’ve recreated and redefined financial advice - we call it financial life management. It’s based on the understanding that your life and finances are inseparable, and money is just a resource to give you choices and help you live the life you want.
Can Verse recommend other professionals I might need?
We’ve got an extensive network of high calibre professionals to refer you to and collaborate with. This includes accountants, mortgage brokers, estate planners, family lawyers and more.
Do Verse take commissions?
We don’t take commissions on any recommended financial products.
Is Verse privately licensed?
Yes, we operate our own Australian Financial Services Licence (ASFL) No. 523541 which has been issued by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC). This means that our advice isn’t influenced by any dealer groups or institutions.
Do I give Verse access to my money?
No. We don't have custody of your money. Institutions such as banks and super funds will likely be the custodians of your money, and they have the responsibility to manage your assets securely.
What sort of investments do Verse recommend?
We focus on proven investments such as cash, term deposits, shares, ETF’s, managed funds, and property. We avoid overly speculative investments and get rich quick schemes. We have access to private market opportunities including private equity, venture capital, real assets, and hedge funds. This diverse set of assets encompasses a broader range of strategies, that allow investors to generate absolute returns uncorrelated to traditional investment markets. Private market opportunities are generally appropriate for clients with portfolios exceeding $2m.
How does Verse handle my private information?
We are committed to protecting your privacy. We have a Privacy Policy that sets out how we collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information. You can view our Privacy Policy at the bottom of our website.
How do Verse charge fees?
Our fees will vary based on your circumstances and the support you need. If you use our Project service, you’ll pay a fixed fee over multiple instalments. If you receive ongoing advice, you’ll pay an agreed monthly fee that reflects your situation. Payment methods can include a combination of direct debit, via investment accounts or from your superannuation.
Can Verse do financial modeling on my goals?
Yes. It can be hard to understand what impact your choices, strategies and investments will have on future goals and intentions. We use market-leading financial modeling to help you understand if you're on track, and give you context for important decisions.
Can I pay advice fees using my super?
You may be able to pay advice fees from your super account if particular requirements are met including the nature of the advice, what super accounts you hold & or what super accounts are recommended by Verse.
Are advice fees tax deductible?
One-off financial advice fees are generally deductible to the extent that they relate to tax advice. Ongoing financial advice fees are generally deductible to the extent that relate to producing assessable income. Before claiming a deduction, we recommend sharing your Summary of Advice, invoices, and our estimate on what may be deductible to you with your qualified accountant.
We won’t replace your accountant or do you tax returns, but we’ll make sure your investment, property and retirement strategies are tax effective. When helpful, we’ll collaborate with taxation accountants on specific matters.
What happens if I don’t need a service from Verse?
We only take on clients we can add real value too. If you get in touch but we’re not right team based on your needs, we’ll re-direct you and give you as much useful information as we can.
